Check out Star Pulse, they have an article from the AP where they interview Jesse. In the article they talk about his maturing as a musician and Jesse thinks his fans are maturing along with him. When asked if he worries about losing his teen fan base, Jesse says:
"I'm not really worried about the fans. I think that they've always been there. They've been loyal from the beginning. ... We've kind of almost grown up together. So it's worked out and at the same time, any fan that wants to be a fan, I'm all about it."

Check out this interview from the UK with Jesse. When asked about what influences his sound:
"Growing up, listening to my parents record collection, there was a bit of James Brown and Michael Jackson, Elvis, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles, legends of R&B music and I always gravitate towards that style of music. So suddenly it occurred to me ‘maybe I should make a record that’s a little bit more like what I love to listen to’ and I think I always wanted to, but wasn’t really in the right head space or mature enough to do so."
